6 six Techniques Every Copywriter Must Apply

Copywriting is the act or occupation of writing text for the purpose of advertising or other forms of marketing. The product, called copy or sales copy, is written content that aims to increase brand awareness and ultimately persuade a person or group to take a particular action.

In simpler terms, copywriting is creating words to advertise a product or provide necessary information.

  1. Use a captivating headline
There’s no way you get people to read your copy if your headline is not catchy enough. So having a good headline is the first step.
  2. Know the need of the audience
Remember copywriting is a marketing tool. And in marketing, you need to know the need of the consumer, before you can drive the consumer’s persuasion to get the product. The same thing goes with copywriting. When writing you should picture the consumer or your audience in your mind and know how to relate properly.
  3. Use facts and stats
One thing a marketer must have is correct facts and stats(positive) that will give someone the moral to get interested in your product. As a copywriter, the same thing goes.

For example, you are told to create a copy for the use of nose masks in this pandemic era, don’t you think your facts and figures will make the mask sell?

E.g You could say; Do you know that over 15,000 people who came in contact with Covid-19 patients contacted the virus because the had no protection on their nose? This could be a selling point.
Facts and stats are very important!

  1. Make your piece interesting
Nobody wants to keep reading a boring content online most especially because they have the right over what they use their data for and a boring content is just a waste of time.

Make your copyright content interesting. You could tell a story about the product and maybe personalize it to how it came as a help to you when you were in some sort of need.

Just use something to keep your audience intrigued.

  1. Keep it simple
Copyright writing is not a skill used to express how good you can intertwine your words. It is not a literary piece.

Remember you have an audience and not all of them may be able to comprehend such words. Hence keep your piece precise and simple.

  1. Share reviews, and testimonies.

So it’s that simple. Your reviews and testimonies about a product can trigger persuasion in your audience.

Tell the audience what you’re going to say, say it; then tell them what you’ve said
